The Thing With the Teeth - revisited

After reading the original patent (US3236930), I think I understand how the teeth were supposed to work. Interestingly in the patent all teeth are of the same height, so I think lowering them for two strings was meant to reduce the effect of the teeth - it makes sense that this would be for the two bass strings.
